Elmo {party}

I felt like it was just a very short time ago that I was working hard on my son's first birthday party.  I can't believe it has been an entire year though.
I wanted this party to be special for my little Zac.  There are a few things that he really loves, and one of them is Elmo.  It was one of his first words, actually--beyond dadda, momma & this. :)
I started my search for a printable packet--because that really is the best way that I found to throw a party. :)
I came across the Elmo Party Package by Your Printable Party & I knew that was the winner.
I love how you can personalize it.  I was also impressed by the speed of which it was completed & emailed to me.
I started the party process almost one month in advance.  After I printed everything out--all 64 pages, I got right to work cutting each Elmo party decor.  It took me a few days, but I was finally done.
Then the fun part came, piecing everything together.
One tip I learned, is to start with your backdrop.
What I originally planned didn't look so hot, so I scrapped it.  Luckily I had enough yellow streamers to still make it work!
I loved the banner the most. It was my favorite part of all the decor.
A few tissue pom poms were also added to tie all the colors in.
The Elmo cookies were a lot of work.
Let me tell you, I am not awesome at decorating pastries.
I don't think I have the patience (or skill level) for them.
These little Elmo cookies were created with a cookie cutter from Williams-Sonoma.
The 'take-home' goodies were a hit with my girls.
They loved to get presents at their little brother's party as well. :)
The cake came from a local bakery.
Again, I am so happy I didn't try to make my own. :)
I really wanted to get a picture of the birthday boy on the table.
I love his little expression though, he was so over pictures. :)
Also, the ruffled yellow layer was made from a dollar store table cloth!  It was super easy.
I simply folded it to the lenght I wanted, then stitched along the top, creating a ruffle effect.  I will definitely be doing this more often.
The food table consisted of:
Costco Take & Bake pizza--a family favorite. :)
Orange Fluff salad
Root Beer
I wanted to keep it simple, can you tell. :)
It was really tasty though!
And the most important person of the day, absolutely had the best time!
I feel so blessed to be a momma to this energetic, sometimes destructive two-year old. Love him to pieces!
A special thanks to Your Printable Party for creating such beautiful party decor to work with.
I was given a party packet to review.  All opinions are 100% my own.

This is such a super cute party! And I can't believe how big he is - I remember reading about his first birthday! Henry's 3rd birthday is the weekend, we're going to Chuck e. Cheese (his request) :)
