I
think the guest room was probably the most dramatic makeover. Really
though, any sort of update would have made the biggest difference, it
was a neon yellow room with green trim, after all. It was so bad. And
our very first task on the list. It had to be tackled asap. The bright
green door made me cringe, absolutely horrible.
Here it goes..
We started with the wallpaper removal. It was a complete joke.
Apparently the border was added too soon after the walls were painted, since
it was literally taking off the wall when we removed it.
Bad news. It
took an entire afternoon to remove this lovely border.
And lots of wall Spackle afterward.
Next came painting. I couldn't paint the green trim & green doors fast enough. :)
I think it took 3+ coats to cover it.
Next
the ceilings, then the walls. My husband worked so hard every night painting
it perfectly. This was the beginning of our 'painting party' nights.
Did I mention that he 'accidentally' rolled my hair in paint. We had
some good laughs during those long nights.
It was just us, the paint brushes & Pandora radio.
Good times & great memories. :)
Welcome to the new & improved guest room.
Can you believe the difference a paint change made??
Now maybe more people will actually want to come visit, since the grey color is a little more pleasing to the eye. :)

I wanted to have lots of pictures in this space of all our favorite people.
The framed quote was made by my sweet friend as a going-away gift.
Means so much to me.
It reads--
'So many of my favorite memories, happy times & blessings, I can trace back to you.'
A little bit of decorating to the shelves, and this room was complete.
Feels so much better, and now I can actually breath easy when I enter this space.
Thanks for checking out our guest room makeover!

This turned out great! I love the paint color. If my husband would let me, I think I would paint every room in my house grey.
Our guest room is grey, too! Yours looks great! -Marci @ Stone Cottage Adventures
