Home {tour}

We are officially in our new place, but before we get started with all of that, I wanted to share a tour of our first home.  Right before we closed the door to our home, I walked through for one last time.  When I finished, my eyes were full of tears as I remembered all the countless moments we shared in this home.

 Entrance--
I always loved the openness that was felt as soon as you walked in.
Formal dining room
Leading into the family room & kitchen

Most of our time was spent in the kitchen.  It was the heart of our home, no doubt.
I loved our baking days in here & when a craft would cover the island.  Those moments I will hold close to my heart.
 Family room--
I can't tell you how many forts were built in this space.
Or how many popcorn & movie nights were held here.  Blankets always seemed to cover the floor, & I loved it.
 The Loft--
My most favorite space of the whole house.  It had this sense of lightness about it.  Kind of like a breath of fresh air. It always made me smile to see the girls sitting at their table coloring or playing with dolls.

 The Master bedroom--
I will miss Saturday mornings when everyone would climb into bed & snuggle.

Master Bathroom--
the bathtub was one of the kids' favorite places to be.  They loved bath night, & without fail would splash the walls, already knowing I would tell them not to. :)
 The girls' room--
This space held so much imagination & creativity.  The girls loved to make big messes in here, but had the best time doing so.

This room has been the space for all 3 of our children.  I love this tiny room. I loved rocking all three of my babies in this space.

The kids' bathroom

Well, there you have it, our very first home that we shared as a family.
So many memories were built there, and as hard as it was to leave that place, I am so happy that we will never have to part with those special moments.

Thanks for sharing, what a beautiful home! I am sure your new home will be a foundation for many more happy memories too. Is there any chance that home was built by Richmond builders? My neighborhood has a home in nearly the exact same style. Glad you were so happy there!

What a beautiful home you had and so many memories that you were thinking of as you closed those doors for the last time...I remember when we moved away from our home that my son pretty much grew up in through elementary and high school...when we sold it, he came home from college specifically to "say goodbye" to a house where he had such great memories..I was touched that he was so sentimental about that house!
Good luck and much happiness in your new home!
A place where you will create many more beautiful memories.

You have a beautiful home! Good luck with your transition as you say goodbye. If I may ask, where is the white dresser from in your nursery? I have a similar dresser that I've had such bad luck refinishing, and we're tempted to just buy one already in white, but haven't found one close enough to it to bite the bullet. Until now! Will you please share the name of the store?
