Mod Podge Quote Canvas

The lovely people over at Plaid Crafts sent me this absolutely amazing package of Mod Podge products. I was completely giddy upon opening it. :)
There are a lot of new products, so I've had the best time playing around with them.

I decided to make a fun new canvas for my little girls' room, so here is what I came up with.

 Supplies needed:
Canvas
Craft paper
Letters
 Pin Wheel--tutorial found here

You will first need to cut your scrapbook paper to match the size of your canvas.

Then with your blank canvas, paint a thin layer over the top & place your scrapbook paper on it.  Smooth out all the bubbles.  In the 7 piece kit, there is an awesome tool that makes evening out the paper a cinch.  I don't know how I've gone this long without these amazing tools. :)

Then I painted a thin layer of the top of the scrapbook paper to secure it even more.

I used the file to sand down the edges of my paper, for a very tailored look.  Make sure you are only sanding down, so the paper doesn't lift from the canvas.

I applied all the letters using the Mod Podge gloss as well, then I used the Dimensional Magic to add some gold glitter to the top of them.  When it dries, it is subtle but still has a hint of gold glitter, which was just what I was going for.

Then I placed the pinwheel in the corner.
When I saw the musical Wicked, I fell in love with the words--
'Everyone deserves the chance to fly'.
I love how inspiring those words are.  I thought they would fit perfectly in my daughters room.
As I was telling my 3-year old what this said, her response to me was,
'but mom, I don't want to fly'.
Silly girl. :)

A big thanks for Plaid Crafts for being so very generous with their products.
You can check them out here, or on Facebook or twitter.

I am envious of the Mod Podge package Got to work with. I love the stuff, but there are only a couple of products (regular, matte, and heavy duty) at Hobby Lobby.

Love the cute canvas especially the little details you added!
