2x4 Flag

We are moving out of state in the beginning of August, so life is kind of crazy for us right now.  I am definitely not going to bust out all of my July 4th decor, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to do a little.
And to be honest, I needed to do something creative, for my sanity really. :)
So I came up with this..

Supplies needed:
3-8 inch 2x4's
2 scrap pieces of fabric
Wood stain
Jute
Mod Podge
Hot Glue

I've never worked with the Fabric Mod Podge, but I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to use.
I loved how the fabric didn't bubble up anywhere, and had a smooth look.

I added a little jute to the top & bottom, attaching it with hot glue.
Can you really ever go wrong with jute??

I made some pinwheels using this great tutorial.
If I could give one suggestion about seasonal decor, it would be to try to incorporate it with your existing decor, so it flows with everything.
That is what I did here, & I really enjoy the overall look.

This will be it for the July 4th decor in our home, but there is always next year. :)

I ADORE this! SO stinkin cute, Lindsay, If you're only going to have one piece of holiday decor- you picked the right one. Pinning this baby so I don't forget.
Did you screw or glue the wood pieces together?

PS Emailed all those companies we talked about late last night. What do you think about someone who does vinyl or chalkboard labels? {Ginger?]

It's so hard to enjoy a holiday when you know you're leaving soon, isn't it? But this is a super cute festive touch!
