{cruisin}

We have had this cruise planned for nearly a year. So much time went into making sure everything was scheduled, little ones were taken care, time taken off from work, lots of details. So when we were sitting on the plane, ready to leave to Florida, I was finally able to relax & begin to enjoy our 8 day, adult-only vacation.

I thought I would share some of the highlights of our cruise. My husband & I, along with all of his siblings, their spouses & his parents, took a cruise to the Eastern Caribbean. We stayed on a beautiful ship, called the Celebrity Solstice.

We traveled to San Juan, St. Maarten & St. Thomas.

I have never visited any of them before, nor had I been on a cruise, so this was all pretty amazing to me.

We kayaked to the Bioluminescent Bay in Puerto Rico. It was pretty incredible. I didn't get any pictures because I was a little too nervous about the whole kayak thing. I didn't rock the boat though, and we made it through just fine. :)

We visited Pinel Island in St. Maarten. It was picturesque. We may have gotten a little more than we hoped to see though, with a few topless sunbathers. :)

St. Thomas was my favorite place we stopped at. It was stunning, absolutely gorgeous in every direction. We took a catamaran & snorkeled near St. John. It was my first time snorkeling, we happened to see a Barracuda, which we quickly swam in the other direction. And we supposedly walked past Kenny Chesney's boat. :)

This was the view from our veranda as we were leaving St. Thomas.

We also had two formal nights. It was kind of fun to get all dressed up & eat at a fancy restaurant. And let's talk about the food on the cruise, I swear I gained at least 5 lbs. There was so much to eat, you could have done that all day if you wanted.

Overall my first cruise was pretty wonderful. I enjoyed spending that one-on-one time with my husband. Life gets so busy that it was great to be able to reconnect again. Now it's back to reality though--diaper changes, laundry, meal planning. Vacations can only last so long. :)

So have any of you been on a cruise before??
If so, where, I would love to hear about your experience with them.

Oh my gosh so fun! My husband & I are planning a trip to St. Thomas in November! Our good friend (he was our best man in our wedding) is getting married there, & my husband is in their wedding. We're staying at an all inclusive there. I'm so excited. We've never been on a tropical vacation before :) Your pictures make me even more excited!

What gorgeous views! Glad you had a great vacation and enjoyed some alone time with your hubby. I think all parents should make time to get away once in a while!

I cruise rather frequently! I love them, with St. Thomas and St. Maarten being my fave places to visit to date!! Don't you feel a tad sad at night when you realize your bed hasnt been turned down for you and you dont have a little chocolate on your pillow?! :)

The last time my husband and I went on a cruise was on our honeymoon 8 years ago. We are definitely due for an adult only cruise!

I love cruises! I think that they should be made mandatory for everyone to go on at least once in their life! I've been on four and three of them were great. My favorite cruise line by far is Royal Carribean. Glad you had fun on yours! Ps: You are very brave to get in a kayak. They terrify me!

St Thomas looks gorgeous! We just took our first cruise back in November down to Central America. Overall, we enjoyed it. I actually have a post that I plan on sharing soon in regards to the rest of our trip. Glad you had a good time away!

I've been on three cruises (I took 2 within 10 months of each other) and would go again in a heartbeat to do your itinerary. I would love to see that part of the carribean.

The first cruise I took with my parents when I was in High School. The old Cozumel, Jamaica, Grand Caymen ports. The second cruise I took was in celebration of our 10th wedding anniversary. It was just me and the hubs and such a great time in the Mexican Riviera. So much fun that when we were planning on visiting my parents in Arizona for spring break, it ended up actually being cheaper to take our whole family of 5 on the same week long cruise instead...so we did that!

On our anniversary cruise we actually kayaked around Cabo. I don't blame you for not wanting to take a picture!

My husband and I actually prefer all inclusive resorts though. Such a fun time and you don't have to worry about paying for the extras like drinks and tips.

We just got back from a 3 night to the Bahamas on the Disney Dream. It was my first time and we took both kids. It was fabulous, for families Disney Cruises are a great option. There was so much for them to do on the ship. Although I must say an adult's only vacation is sounding pretty fabulous too now that I am seeing your pictures!

Beautiful pics...and yep, you do need some adult vacation time ever so often.
